I am super excited to start this new series of Blog Posts about my Portrait and Event Work!

I have been working more and more with woman that I admire, and this is the case with Michelle and the group of woman that are part of her community CREETELO.

Each person I work with has the center stage. We have a meeting before the shoot, I hear them out and understand their business and their needs. Then we create a Pinterest Board to understand the mood, colors, poses we will be referencing and then we book a studio or pick a location and date.

The day of the shoot is all about having fun and making conversation to ease out any nervousness.

As the shoot happens I show the images so we can adjust and make it better and better.

César Aramis

This shoot was so much fun and a beautiful collaboration between César and myself.

I met César at the Comedy Club scene in Buenos Aires and thought he was a brilliant person and offered my services as a portrait photographer to have the honor to make his portrait.

César was great to work with. He not only made jokes here and there but was really in tune with playing around and making the most of the session.

For the session I asked César which place he wanted to be photographed at and he mentioned a friend’s house which had several options for shooting. Once the location was decided, I asked César to bring a couple of outfits so we could work the colors and styles according to the space.

The last thing I ask each person I work with is to send me around 5 images that they like to have as references for the portrait session. I analyze the posing, lighting and atmosphere (space+outfit).

The session lasted 1.5 hours and we used 4 spots and had a lot of fun creating different portraits.

4. Share references of photos you like

5. Come prepared to have fun!

When I am in a session I try to explore as much as I can the environment so that we can get the best possible portraits.

Tam Gryn is a recurring client who uses her portraits for all her social media, speaking engagements and profile pictures.
