About

Born in Venezuela, Romina Hendlin holds a BA in Mass Media with a major in AudioVisual Arts from the Catholic University in Caracas. She started her photography studies at Roberto Mata Taller de FotografĂa and later graduated from the International Center of Photography in NYC. In 2021 she completed a Masters Degree in Visual Anthropology from Freie Universität Berlin.

Her photographic work for the past 10 years has been an exploration of the human condition through the exchange of conversations and photography. The projects are grounded on a sensitivity to the social and economic disparities of the world. The themes varied from resilience, informal economy, migration and the struggle to make ends meet.

On her commercial work, Romina portrays everyday people bringing the most authentic representation of themselves which they can use for all the purposes they need such as profile pictures, job hunting, social media. Another big part of her work is to document family life and capture those timeless memories.

Romina integrates her photographic practice with her passion for teaching photography. She finds that a lot of growth happens in the process, as much for her as for her students.

Romina has participated in group shows in Caracas and New York and had her first solo exhibition in Caracas for her project To Live.

Romina Hendlin is based in New York and is available for assignments worldwide.
